We are here Venice invited Emma Thompson on board the Greenpeace ship the Rainbow Warrior and she didn’t hesitate when asked to lend her voice to their latest campaign against fossil fuel ads, launched by Greenpeace while in Venice.
Together with 30 other organizations, via a European Citizens’ Initiative (CEI), we are calling for a new law banning fossil fuel advertising and sponsorship in the EU, similar to what happened with the tobacco industry at the beginning of this century.
Writing in The Guardian, the activist and actor Emma Thompson, our long-time supporter and friend, emphasises that activism works when fighting against big lobbies and their greenwashing.
